Further Half-Orc Testing, Fathers Day, Bacon & Duct Tape
I finished the two half-orcs I started with, because I wanted to see how they would turn out. Pretty happy with the results. Still haven't decided on a regiment name or emblem, but I do know I want red for what little color they have.
This weekend was Fathers Day. I'm happy to see that, if nothing else, my five year old daughter has caught on to my sense of humor. She apparently picked out the card on her own, and when told it wasn't a Fathers Day card, explained she would just cross it out and turn it into one. So proud. :)
This weekend was also the "Duck Tape Festival" in nearby Avon, Ohio. Did you know they have bacon duct/Duck tape? I do believe the ducts in the basement need some repairs. I think they may be in bacon tape...
Also, I as a Fathers Day gift to myself, I just purchased the Shadow War rulebook. Should be here by the end of the week. I loved Necromunda, and had semi-recently been looking into INQ-28. Also still interested in small games of Rogue Trader. I think Shadow War may be a good comprimise, plus it's a "current" game. Not that I actually play any games in the real world. But at least I will have a new rulebook to fantasize and dream about playing. Should be here by the end of the week.

Great looking minis, they look so fierce!ReplyDelete
The half orcs look good. Are you going to have multiple skin tones? I also applaud your purchase of SW:A. The grognards can harumph it all they want. It gives current gamers a way to use their models for a pretty good set of skirmish rules and it allows people with old necromunda gangs and models to jump in and play with them. I ran Abdul Goldberg and his Space Chicken mercenaries as Astra Milatarum (Imperial Guard). After the fact I said they were Catachan's to do the campaign progress part. Looking forward to your take on the game.ReplyDelete
Yes, flesh is all done on the half orcs, I think I may have posted a pic either here or on FB.Delete
Your recent post about SW:A is the reason I started looking into it in the first place.
Your Half orcs are fantastic. They have inspired me to grab a unit when black tree has a 50% sale and I have extra money. SW:A is cool and I would be up for a game if we can ever get together.ReplyDelete
Black Tree has a number of good ranges. The more I (slowly) work on these guys, the more I like them.Delete
My SW:A book is supposed to arrive today. I'd better get painting!
Those half-orcs look great - what make are they? Love the card; kids do the sweetest things.ReplyDelete
They're Black Tree Design orcs ("Orcs of the Crimson Wave" or something like that.)Delete
Happy father's day, looks like your daughter understands what it is really about.ReplyDelete
And SW:A is great fun, even if only to help spur your INQ28 production.
By "spur" you mean "start"? Haha. Yes, I figured it might be a good motivator, plus since it's a more mainstream game, maybe I could get another player or players interested. Still haven't even started to read the rules yet, though. I'm going to be on the road again for work this coming week, so I'm thinking about bringing it with me in case I get some time to read in the evening.Delete
